Confirmed £100 million Cash Injection to the Green Deal

As a temporary solution – with winter fast approaching – a further £100m boost of funding has been added to the Green Deal Home Improvement Fund.

The original funding scheme, GDHIF opened earlier in June this year offering a rebate of up to £7,600 for consumers who take out a number of energy efficiency measures on their homes. The scheme faced severe criticism as the funding ran out in less than 8 weeks.

However, the funding running out so quickly showed a positive sign that people are wanting to make energy efficiency changes to their homes. The funding will enable homeowners to live in a warmer, more comfortable property with reduced energy bills in the long run.
